Meet Ms. Dipali Tikam.
She is among the few people who can stand in the Tribhangi posture without any effort. Her body is
naturally suited for the Odissi dance form. You can witness that when you
see her dance.
She was a student in the Sane Guruji Arogya Mandir School,
where Guru Smt. Jhelum Paranjape identified her talent and asked her to
join Smitalay. She is also among the several lucky souls who could learn
Odissi under the attention of the Great Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra in his
famed summer workshops.
Dipali
teaches the younger students at Smitalay's main branch in Santacruz.
If you happen to be watching any of Smitalay's productions, be sure
to check her out.
She
is also the recipient of the Pt. Vishnu Digambar Paluskar Award.
